THE FINTECH OPPORTUNITY 2.0
MARTIN PASEK
This course is designed to provide students an intense immersion into a fintech company. After a short introduction to the fintech ecosystem, students will organize themselves into small groups and choose a startup or established fintech to assist in dealing with their current and relevant strategic, operational or financial challenges. The students will select the company from a list of potential candidates, research the relevant challenge to resolve, and then work with the venture capital investor and/or the company’s senior management to tackle the issues. Specific projects may include market landscape research, product development, product-market fit, client acquisition strategy, financial projections, competitor analysis, regulatory challenges, or strategic partnerships. Students will be able to choose to work with fintechs from payments, neobanks, online lenders, peer-to-peer lending, insurance, wealth management, exchanges, accounting, and others.
Due to the real-time nature of the issues facing the fintech, actual fintechs and their projects will be assigned at the start of the module.
