START TRIAL SESSION

David Mikula is a creative partner that helps ambitious leaders shape the ways people experience their brands and organizations.

In the past twelve years, David has been recognized for award-winning innovations in digital and tangible products, marketing and experiences for notable brands like Nike, Microsoft, Sesame Street, NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, Wieden+Kennedy, Whole Foods Market, Foursquare, Digital Kitchen, Coca-Cola and Electronic Arts.

Being a self-taught designer, technologist and competitive gamer from the Internet's golden-age: Mikula fits into the rare category of specialists that learned, as a teenager, how crucial experiments and exploits are in helping people affect the world around them using technology.

Aside from his work, he applies his learnings through teaching and public speaking and is a contributor of the EFF and ACLU. In his spare time, Mikula plays pinball, sails and attempts to build a new internet from scratch. If you’d like to help or have a collaboration in mind, send him an email at wtf@me.com. He'd love to hear from you.

In this class, students will be exposed to practical methods of transforming an abstract concept into a tangible experience that moves an audience to action, emotion.

From the basics of storytelling to Enchanted Objects, students will learn how to apply concepts to existing and new mediums, objects, and environments —screens, realities, mobility, art, gaming. Students will become acquainted with real-world examples and guest speakers that will guide them through the difficult process of maintaining and unifying a vision from concept to production—including how to translate input from stakeholders and maneuver through competing priorities.
